Islands located in Karnataka
Soans Island is a private island situated in the mouth of river Varahi at Basrur near Kundapur, in Udupi district.
Kurumgad island got its name from the shape. Kurma means tortoise in kannada language. It is just 18km(10 nautical miles) off the cost of Karwar in Uttara Kannada (North Kanara) district.
St. Mary's island (Thonsepar and Coconut island) is a group of four islands at a distance of 6km from Udupi. It is located off the coast of Malpe, Udupi district.
Netrani island or Pigeon island, situated 22km(12 nautical miles) from the off Bhatkal coast near Murudeshwar, in Uttara Kannada (North Kanara) district. Local people call it as Netra Gudo.

Mermaid Islands and Resorts India has cruise facilities from Sultan Battery during weekends and provides dinner on the island. It is a mere 2 nautical miles (4km) and 15 minutes journey, on a cruise boat having 32 seats capacity. The boat club situated at Sultan battery has boat facilities for people who want to enjoy on the island.
