Many of the sages and devotees of lord Shiva witnessed the marriage. Shiva gifted a gem stone(mani) by name Kalyana mani to sage Mandavya. It was a very powerful mani which had a diameter of about 8 feet. The mani was powerful enough to bring prosperity and development in the place where it was established. Sage Mandavya placed it inside the earth in a location where Bengaluru city has developed today. It lies 360 feet below the earth and the radiance or power is spread across 180km across the region.
